For generations Nashik has remained a revolutionary, progressive and development oriented region of the country. The soil of this region has given several patriots, freedom fighters and social reformers to the country. Among them was Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik, the great revolutionary who led and shaped the freedom movement and the process of social change and reformation. His life and work has been the fountain of inspiration for the young generations of the country. Therefore the stalwarts of society inspired by his dedication and commitment to national cause established the institution in his memory for the same cause.
Establishment
After the demise of Vasantrao Naik, the institution named Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik Education Society was established by the stalwarts of the Vanjari Community to commemorate the loving memories of this great leader.
Dongare Vidyarthi Vastigruh
Taking inspiration from the great social reformer, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, the Vanjari Borading was established on 16th April 1920 in his presence along with Udoji Maratha and Shau Boarding. Later it was renamed as 'Dongare Vastigruha' which provided the hostel facility to the students belonging to economically weaker sections of society. This opened up the doors of education to the underprivileged class of the society.
Amalgamation
'Dongare Vastigruha' and Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik Education Society were amalgamated into Krantiveer Vasantrao Narayanrao Naik Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha on social demand to facilitate the administration of the institution and to create a single platform for the leaders of the community to serve the educational needs of the society.
